Tarot originated in northern Italy during the fourteenth century, the age of Renaissance. At first, it was used for playing, not divining, like the ordinary playing cards. According to the presumption, Tarot has been used for divination purpose since the eighteenth century. Primary Tarot contained four suits which are Minor Arcana at the present. Major Arcana or Trump Cards were added later.
It is believed that Tarot was widespread in Europe by gypsies who are expert on foretelling with Tarot cards and live nomadically. Thus, Tarot was popular prophetic tool, which was widely used.
Nowadays, there are various Tarot decks due to artists' imagination and illustration; nevertheless, the meaning of each deck is very similar. Tarot cards are published in many countries such as England, France, Switzerland, Spain, and so on. Thailand also has Tarot publishers. This deck is known as the standard suit which is the most popular Tarot deck in the world as it is easy to interpret.
